HISTORY

The Gordon clan is believed to have been from Anglo-Norman decent, moving from the Borders to Aberdeenshire. The earliest record of the family was Richer de Gordum  in 1150 and 1160 with the monks of St Mary at Kelso.

The Gordon Modern tartan is similar to the Ancient pattern but with a deeper green.

The Graham clan is first recorded in 1127 with William de Graham who received lands from David I. Sir William can be traced back to the English manor of Grey Home, as recorded in William the Conqueror’s Doomsday Book. Legend says Greme, a great Caledonian chief, broke the Antonine Wall driving the Roman legions out.
