Selecting the Correct Stair Rod Length for Your Runner

Beautifully fitted stair rods are the finishing detail that elevate a staircase. Choosing the correct length ensures the proportions are balanced and the decorative finials sit perfectly either side of your runner.

1. Measure Your Runner

Begin by measuring the exact width of your carpet runner.

For example:
A runner measuring 70 cm wide.

2. Allow for an Elegant Overhang

Country Stair Rods are designed to extend slightly beyond the runner so the brackets and finials frame it beautifully.

We recommend allowing approximately 10 cm in total (around 5 cm each side) beyond the runner width.

Example:
70 cm runner → Order 80 cm stair rods

This ensures the rod sits correctly and achieves the intended decorative finish.

3. Confirm Your Staircase Width

Before placing your order, measure the full width of your stair tread (wall to wall or between stringers).

Your chosen rod length should:

• Fit comfortably within the staircase width

• Clear the walls or stringers

• Provide adequate space for bracket installation
