HISTORY

The Farquharson clan where members of the Clan Chattan confederation. THe original member was Farquhar, the 4th son of Alexander Cier of Rothiemurchus. HIs son, Donald was the first Farquharson and died in 1547 at the Battle of Pinkie where he was standard holder. He left 9 sons who grew the family in numbers and influence in the 16th century.

The Farquharson Ancient tartan contains pale blue and green with black and a red and yellow stripe.
