Thistle Tartan Rug
The Thistle carpet and rug is a beautiful patten inspired by the national emblem, the Scotch Thistle.
The legend of how this flower saved the country goes back to the Middle ages, when the Scots and the Norsemen were at war. The Norsemen landed under cover of darkness unseen on the coast of Scotland. Planning on creeping up on the Scottish army unaware, the Norsemen removed their footwear and crept bare foot. As fate would have it, one soldier is said to have screamed as he stood on a thistle, alerting the Scottish army to gain notice to defend themselves against attack. The Thistle has also been widely used in medicinal action.
The Thistle tartan is a grey and purple toned pattern with brown.
